Winter Fashion : When Style & Ethnic Fashion Goes Hand In Hand with Saree: OOTD & MOTD

After kick starting 2017 , I had a strange feeling . Dollup and Take Care’s Journey would have been impossible without the support I got from you all. Therefore , how can New Year be “Happy “ without the very first post of 2017 , ‘cause this is the only platform I connect to you all isn’t it?
After a long time here we go with another Out Fit of the Day story . Winter fashion is not confined to furs and blazers alone , why should our own handloom art lag behind ? Winter is all about Vibrant colors , what else can flaunt the vibrancy better that 9yards  of woven dreams .

These days many of us contradict the stagnant “male color- female color” idea , but the fact is blue is a conventional male color . We do consider some shades of blue like turquoise as female favourites , but ink blue, topaz blue such colors are never considered as female colors . I chose to style a handloom raw silk of Topaz blue color .

The texture of the saree is conventionally similar to that of handloom cotton , but this saree is a variant of Ghicha ,Raw silk . These type of Handloom fabrics barely have glossy texture like Murshidabad Silk ,Sakambari Silks and Mysore Silks. The texture is pretty much non-glossy and heavy weight , but when you drape it you are perfectly able to find your comfort zone

What I hate about vibrant shades sometimes is they have overdose of attract . Vibrant fabrics with shimerry zari border is a turn-off , if not for everybody atleasr it is a turn-off for me. I believe that light colors should have shimmer work and border while vibrant ones should stick to nearly matte borders . That again is conventionally my styling comfort zone . Other may find it awesome the otherway round . This Saree has “ muga” border , which means it is woven with matte textured zari . I completely preffer mugas a lot .

The Aanchal (Pallu ) work is very simple it is again muga threads in golden beige . The border Muga is a shade which is a mix of silver and copper . Thus I personally felt that silver oxidized accesorries would go better with the saree . I have kept the look simple with Silver Jhumkas , Pata Necklace (That’s what the design is called in bengal) and silver bangles .I think this color was perfect when I was photographed on a foggy winter evening.
