Spinning Fairytale of Warf and Weft : National Handloom Day 2017 Celebration

Today We are Celelebrating National Handloom Day. To mark the Swadeshi Movement which began on August 7, 1905 and with the objective to generate awareness about the importance of handloom industry and its contribution to the socioeconomic development, the government on July 29, 2015 declared this day as ‘National Handloom Day’.

I remember once PM Modi Tweeted “On #NationalHandloomDay, let us affirm that we will give an impetus to the handloom sector & use more handloom products in our daily lives,”
So, Today I am My National Handloom Day Celebration begins …
So I would love to show you all how I styled Handloom Saree and Kurti …

The video of this home grown Handloom was taken when i went to Bishnupur ,

Let’s Begin With a saree first
I actually love this Ink Blue handloom Saree
Honestly I have accesorized this with Silver Oxidised Tribal Designed Necklace and Jhumki ..
Jhumki represents the Royal Rung of social ladder while Tribal Designed Necklace shows the other side of this country . So you can say It is my attempt to represent unity in diversity …
Indian based handloom and fabric industry  have managed to provide a life of respect and sustainability for the people who pursue it as their passion or as their support system. More importantly, the creative minds in our countries have forgotten barriers and come together in producing some of the most amazing pieces of clothing.

I remember PM Modi’s words “ Khaadi for nation ,Khaadi for Fashion”
